Hi Lads,
I am thinking about taking the boat to Oban Scotland for massive common skate (over 200lb). I am thinking about going March 21st & fishing 23rd to 29th then again from April 4th to 9th 2018. The best tides are neap tides and we can fish even in strong winds because the area is well sheltered. The only down side is that Oban is 230 miles from Liverpool by sea so that's a 560 mile round trip plus whatever miles I do while I am there, plus mooring fees are costly and fuel is a lot more than Plymouth.
The cost of these charters will be £660 per day for the whole boat (max 6 anglers) or £110 for individuals; this will include all tackle & hot drinks.
If you are interested in booking a trip I would recommend doing at least 2 days minimum because Oban is a 5 hour drive from Liverpool. Most B+Bs are £30 to £40 per night including breakfast. Sunrise is 7am to 7pm so we can do12 hour trips. Parking is free at the marina and the B+Bs are next to the Marina.
The only way it's worth me doing this trip is if I fill 12 days or I mght as well stay on the Mersey. Please let me know if you are interested so I can get the ball rolling my end and please note this will be a one off trip I won't be doing it again, so if you would like to catch a monster Skate this is the best time of year to do it and I have all the marks to fish.
Cheers Kev
